WhatsApp Link Generator or link maker is an online tool (web app) that allows you to create WhatsApp links with QR codes for your social media profiles such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter (X) etc.
By default, if you share your WhatsApp number on your social media profiles, users have to save your WhatsApp number on their phone to start a conversation with you. But, using this tool, you can create a direct link that allows users to start a conversation without saving the phone number.
Moreover, you can add a custom welcome message that is automatically added to the chat thread when the user clicks on the link. So, a pre-filled message makes it easier to start a conversation.
When anyone clicks on the generated link, the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp web automatically opens with the chat thread. Users are not required to save the number to start the conversation.
WhatsApp Link Generator uses the "click to chat" feature that is provided by WhatsApp. This feature allows you to start a chat with someone without saving the phone number to your mobile contacts. So, you can also create the link for you.
Well, the "click to chat" feature works on both mobile phone apps and WhatsApp Web. When someone clicks on the link, it will automatically open the app or WhatsApp web according to the device platform.
If you're using a mobile phone, chat will open in the app. On the other hand, on a desktop, chat will open in WhatsApp web.
You can create a WhatsApp link in just 3 steps.
1. Enter Phone Number: Enter your WhatsApp Phone Number with the country code without the + symbol. Omit any zeroes, brackets, or dashes when adding the phone number in international format.
2. Type Welcome Message (Optional): Now type the welcome message that you want your customers to see in the chat message when they contact you. After that, click on the Generate WhatsApp Link button
3. Copy Link and Download QR Code: Now you'll see the link with the copy button and QR code. Click on the Copy Link button to copy the generated link to the clipboard and you can paste it anywhere. Otherwise, you can download or save the QR code by right-clicking on the QR code image. You need to tap and hold on to the image on the mobile device.
However, this is a web app and requires a browser to use. But you can add or install it on your Android home screen. If you already opened this page on your Android device, then tap on More (three dots) from the top right and select the "Add to Home screen" option.
2. The "Generate WhatsApp Link" button is grayed out and not working. The button is disabled by default, you need to enter the phone number in the required field.
