Can You Reach 100K Mesos in MapleStory Classic World? IGGM’s Guide to Smarter Farming
It might seem like getting 100k mesos in MapleStory Classic World is completely out of the question but it’s absolutely achievable. The real key is in how you spend your money and how effectively you make use of every opportunity rather than just killing loads of monsters.
You can actually increase your profits by doing things like avoiding monster attacks, using fewer HP/MP potions and simply selling your gear and materials to other players. IGGM.com believes that learning to plug the loopholes in daily training, making every expenditure worthwhile and every drop valuable, is the key to consistently accumulating MSCW mesos.

Minimizing Damage Taken: Efficient Way to Earn Currency
In MS Classic World meat and red potions are by far the best value for HP in the NPC shops at around 1 meso for 2 HP. So every time you take an unnecessary hit you’re effectively losing mesos. If a monster hits you for 200 HP that’s equivalent to losing 100 mesos.
You can’t avoid every hit, but halving the number of hits you take can save you a fortune over time. Regardless of your class you can use things like attacking from a higher platform, hanging on the ropes until the monsters spawn so they don’t appear directly underneath you and jumping to dodge the fast monsters to reduce your hit rate.
MP Management and Attack Skill Trade-offs

How much MP you use also has an effect on how much you’ll save. Lemons are 150 mesos and give you 150 MP. If you use the Thief’s Lucky Seven skill 1,200 times in an hour you’ll be using around 15,600 MP which would cost you 15,600 mesos.
So IGGM.com recommends using regular attacks to finish off the monsters when there aren’t many around or when they’ve just got a bit of HP left. That way you’re using fewer skills. If you cut down 200 Lucky Seven casts per hour you can save 2,600 mesos.
But relying too heavily on normal attacks can actually slow you down and reduce your EXP gains. Normal attacks are best reserved for weak monsters or when there aren’t many around. You’re far better off using them to train on monsters you can kill in one or two hits.
Equipment and Material Monetization: NPCs are Not the Best Option
If you’re selling equipment you’ve got from monsters straight to NPCs you may well be missing out on a lot of profit.
A Coconut Knife sells for 10,500 mesos at an NPC but you can only buy it back for 3,500. If you sell it to a low level player for 9,000 mesos the buyer is saving 1,500 mesos over the NPC price and you’re making 5,500 more than if you’d sold it to the NPC.
Watch what gear the low level players are using around Kerning City. If you see someone with a weapon that’s below their level that’s a great opportunity to sell to them with minimal effort and a very high probability of success.
Higher-level equipment drops are the ones that will get you the most profit. After 13 KPQ runs the rewards are worth roughly 22k mesos if you sell them to NPCs, but you could easily get 55k mesos by selling them to other players.
Quest Rewards: Undervalued Startup Capital
MapleStory Classic World has now officially launched so it’s a good idea for players to look at how Quests can be used to generate some cash in the early days.
For example, Shumi’s Lost Coin Jump Quest gives you gold and a lot of potions as rewards (you’d otherwise have to purchase these from NPCs later on, so it’s a money-saving quest). Whilst KPQ doesn’t give a massive amount of experience the scrolls and earrings you get can be sold to other players for a decent amount.
These quests help to take the pressure off your pockets at the beginning of the game and allow you to save and make more money later on via the potions and gear you acquire.
However, for players who don’t want to spend time slowly completing quests, they can directly buy MS Classic World mesos to progress more efficiently.
Leveling Location Selection: Balancing Experience and Gains

When you’re choosing where to level up in MapleStory Classic World, don’t just look at the EXP. Think about monster health, how quickly you can kill them, and how many potions you’ll need as well.
If you’re at level 16-20 you might want to give Bubbling in the Kerning City Subway a go. Each monster there gives 28 EXP and they’re all packed in so it’s ideal if you can clear them fairly quickly. At levels 26-30 Ant Tunnel III is a good one to play, with the Zombie Mushrooms giving 45 EXP each.
But just because the monsters are higher level doesn’t mean you’re going to get better rewards. If it’s going to cost you a lot of MP or you’re going to take a lot of damage, then the extra EXP and gold may not be worth it. It’s actually better to go for maps where you can kill quickly and use up considerably fewer potions, as you’re going to be building up your resources over time.
Overall, the best way to build up your resources in MapleStory Classic World isn’t just by grinding monsters. It’s about leveling efficiently, using as few potions as possible, and making the most of the quest rewards and the player market.
IGGM.com are of the view that you get into the habit of being very careful with your resources and of making the most of every fight and every item. That’s how you make 100k mesos a real possibility.
