Are you searching for the Chrome Dino game cheat codes? If yes, then you’re on the right page.

Google provides a built-in and hidden game in its Chrome browser. The game started as a simple offline Easter egg that evolved into an iconic mini-game enjoyed by millions. However, you can enjoy this game even when your Wi-Fi is perfectly fine. However, like other games, it is not a game that can be mastered with ease. Because the Dino speeds up relentlessly, obstacles multiply, frustration increases… and then? You crash into a cactus again.

This is where this Chrome Game Cheat Guide comes in.

So, in this guide, I’ll show you what the Chrome Dino game is, how to access it, how to cheat using browser extensions, and powerful JavaScript commands that you can inject directly into your browser. This cheat guide helps you to get unlimited lives, God mode, insane jump height, or a custom speed boost.

What Is the Chrome Dino Game?

Chrome Dino Game (also known as Chrome Dino Runner, T-Rex Game, or No Internet Game) is an in-built hidden game in Google Chrome.

It appears that every time you lose your internet connection, the No Internet error page shows up. Just press the spacebar button on the keyboard, and the game begins.

The game was originally developed by the Chrome UX team. Its intention was simple:

Give users something fun to do when they’re offline.

However, with time, the Dino game has grown to be a lot more, with speed-running records, mods, cheats, high-score challenges, and even various versions of the game on the web.

How to Access Chrome Dino Game

There are two ways to access the Dino game in the Google Chrome browser. It doesn’t matter whether you’re online or offline; you can access the Dino game easily.

Method 1: Access Chrome Dino with Internal URL (Online or Offline)

Google Chrome provides an internal URL that allows us to access its internal functions. So, it also provides an internal URL to access the Dino game. Using the internal URL, you can access the game even while you’re online or offline.

Steps are given below:

Open Google Chrome on your PC.

Type chrome://dino/ into the address bar (omnibox) and press the Enter button.

Now the game page will be open. Click Spacebar to start.

That’s it.

Method 2: Access Chrome Dino When You’re Offline

Open Google Chrome on your computer and open any URL.

You’ll see the No Internet Connection page with the T-Rex (Dinosaur).

Press the Spacebar button on the keyboard to start.

Note: To use JavaScript Cheat Codes, you need to use the 2nd method. Just turn off your WiFi or internet connection and open any URL to see the No Internet Connection page with the Dino game.

Chrome Dino Game Cheat Guide

You can use a browser extension or JavaScript code as a cheat code for the Chrome Dino game. However, the browser extension provides its own dinosaur game, which is similar to the original one. But you can get more cheats.

The game may look simple, but the cheats available for it are surprisingly powerful.

Method 1: Use a Browser Extension for Chrome Dino Cheat

In chrome web store, you can find plenty of cheat extensions for dino game. But “Dino Game Cheat” is one of the best extensions with the best UI. You can easily use this extension, and it offers cool features that are given below:

Infinite Speed: Travel at the speed of a Super Dinosaur.

The installation and use of the extension is simple and easy. The step-by-step guide is given below.

Now the Dino game tab will be open. Just press the spacebar button to play the game. <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-8661 aligncenter" src="https://otechworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Dino-game-tab-will-be-open.-Just-press-the-spacebar-button-to-play-the-game.png" alt="Dino game tab will be open.
That’s it.

Method 2: Chrome Dino JavaScript Cheat Commands

Note: To use JavaScript Cheat Codes, you need to use the 2nd method. Just turn off your WiFi or internet connection and open any URL to see the No Internet Connection page with the Dino game.

However, Chrome Dino cheat extensions may look convenient and easy to use, but they often come with a major limitation; one of the main limitations is extension don’t modify the original Chrome Dino game.

Most extensions load their own recreated version of the Dino game that looks similar to the original one, but is technically a different game. This is where JavaScript direct injection cheats clearly stand out.

JavaScript cheats work by directly manipulating the original Chrome Dino game engine that is already built into your browser.

JavaScript cheats work by directly manipulating the original Chrome Dino game, which is built into your browser. So, you are not playing a clone or a remake version; you are manipulating the real, native Chrome Dino game itself.

Note: On the web, there are numerous JavaScript codes available, but they no longer work because of browser updates. So, in this article, I’ll show you the latest JavaScript that works for 2025 and 2026.

Here is the step-by-step guide and the most effective JavaScript cheat codes.

Before applying any cheat code, make sure you are running the original Chrome Dino game, not a cloned version from an extension.

Steps to Apply the Cheat Code JavaScript:

Turn off your Wi-Fi or internet connection and Open Google Chrome browser.

Open any URL using Omnibox, and you’ll see No internet error page with dino game.

Press the spacebar to start the game.

Once the game starts, Right-click anywhere on the page. Select Inspect and click the Console tab. Paste the cheat code and press the Enter button.
Alternatively, start the game by pressing the spacebar and pressing Ctrl+Shift+I to open the console tab directly.

After pressing the Enter button. The code will be executed; the cheat activates instantly.

1. God Mode (Invincibility Cheat / No Game Over)

JavaScript:

Runner.prototype.gameOver = function(){};

Once this cheat code is used, the “Game Over” feature of the game will be disabled. Dino is unable to bang against any obstacle and keep running. The score itself is also increasing indefinitely.

It is among the most popular cheats since it does not alter the appearance, but the underlying logic of the game.

2. Speed Control Cheat (Ultra-Fast or Slow Gameplay)

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.setSpeed(50);

You can change the number:

10 – Easy mode.

50 – Extreme speed.

1000 – Nearly uncontrollable.

The speed is controlled by Chrome’s internal game engine, which JavaScript directly overrides.

3. Slow Motion Mode (Precision Control Cheat)

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.setSpeed(1);

Effect:

Dino moves in slow motion.

Easier to time jumps.

Great for learning obstacle patterns

This cheat is especially useful for beginners. It slows down the game speed.

4. Super Jump Height Cheat

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.tRex.config.JUMP_HEIGHT = 250;

Result:

Dino jumps significantly higher.

Easily clears multiple obstacles.

Reduces the need for precise timing.

You can experiment with values like 150, 300, or even 500.

5. Gravity Control Cheat (Float Mode / Jetpack Effect)

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.tRex.config.GRAVITY = 0.2;

What It Does:

Reduces gravity.

Dino floats longer in the air.

Creates smooth, slow landings.

Combine this with Super Jump for advanced gameplay.

6. Lock Day or Night Mode Permanently

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.setDarkMode(true);

or

Runner.instance_.setDarkMode(false);

Effect:

Forces permanent night or day mode.

Prevents screen flicker.

Improves visual comfort.

7. Freeze Obstacles Cheat

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.horizon.obstacles.forEach(o => o.speedOffset = 0);

Result:

Obstacles stop moving.

Dino keeps running.

Useful for screenshots or testing.

8. Auto-Jump Bot (Smart JavaScript AI Cheat)

JavaScript:

setInterval(() => {

  const obs = Runner.instance_.horizon.obstacles;

  if (obs.length && obs[0].xPos < 120) {

    Runner.instance_.tRex.startJump();

  }

}, 10);

What Happens:

The script scans obstacle distance.

Dino jumps automatically.

AI plays the game perfectly.

This cheat works only because it reads real-time obstacle data from the original engine.

9. Instant High Score Cheat

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.distanceRan = 99999 / Runner.instance_.config.COEFFICIENT;

Result:

Score jumps instantly to near max.

Works only in the current session.

Refresh resets everything.

10. Dino Walk in the Air

This hack enables the Dino to walk on top of the ground and look as though it was walking or floating in air. This is in contrast to speed or invincibility cheats, which alter the positioning of the Dino vertically in the game world.

JavaScript:

Runner.instance_.tRex.groundYPos = 0

As a result:

The Dino floats above most obstacles.

Collisions are reduced or completely avoided.

The game becomes much easier.

11. Reset & Remove All Cheats

JavaScript:

location.reload();

Effect:

Game reloads cleanly.

All cheats removed.

Dino returns to original behavior.

Why are some Dino cheat codes not working and getting “Uncaught TypeError”:

Note that the Runner.instance_ no longer works before the game starts.

Old Chrome (Before the 2024–2025 Update)

In older versions of Chrome (before 2023–2024), Dino game hacks worked because the game engine was loaded as soon as the page opened. The Runner.instance_ object already existed, so cheat scripts could be pasted and run even before starting the game.

New Chrome (2024–2025 Update)

The loading of the game changed in the newer versions of Chrome (2024-2025). At this point, Runner.instance_ is only generated once you press the spatially separated bar to begin the game. Before that time, the object does not exist, hence it appears as undefined, and old cheat codes do not work.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is it safe to use Chrome Dino cheat codes?

Yes. These JavaScript cheats only modify your local browser session. They do not harm your device.

2. Do extensions harm browser performance?

A majority of the Dino cheat extensions are lightweight. However, excessive installation may cripple Chrome.

3. Can Google ban my Google account for using cheats?

No. The Dino game is offline/local. No account is used.

4. How do I remove all cheats and restart the game normally?

Just refresh the page (Ctrl + R).

5. Can these cheats work on mobile Chrome?

JavaScript cheats depend on Dev Tools, and this cannot be used on mobile Chrome.

However, desktop mode or remote debugging is available to you.

6. Does Chrome remember my hacked high score?

No. Score resets every time you refresh unless you manually edit local storage.

7. How long can the Dino game go?

The max score display stops at 99,999, but the game continues infinitely.

Final Words

I hope this guide helps you to know about Chrome Dino Game Cheats. However, extensions are easy to use, but extensions provide their own dino game, which is similar to the original one. So, JavaScript is one of the best methods. But this method works perfectly when you turn off your WiFi or Internet connection. Because some JavaScript cheat code command not work when you’re online.

The Chrome Dino game may look like a simple distraction, but it’s become an iconic symbol of browser culture. With cheat codes, mods, unique hacks, and creative JavaScript injections, you can transform this simple offline runner into a fully customizable playground.

Whether you want God mode, infinite speed, jetpack jumps, AI auto-play, or weapon mods, this guide gives you everything you need.

So the next time your Wi-Fi goes down—or even if it doesn’t—you’ll know exactly how to dominate the desert like a true Dino champion.

If you need more cheats, custom mods, or a downloadable HTML version of the Dino game, feel free to ask!

Grammarly – write flawlessly

Grammarly checks grammar, spelling, and punctuation in real time, but also gives gentle nudges on tone and clarity. You can tell if your message sounds confident, polite, or too wordy – and you can preset everything according to your preferences.

People value Grammarly because of its adaptability: it works across platforms, from Google Docs to email drafts. And if you install its browser extension, it will activate automatically wherever you write online.

It’s one of the extensions for productivity that not only saves time but also improves how you communicate every day. Students often notice better grades and fewer corrections after just a few weeks of using it.

Notion Web Clipper – save anything worth remembering

Notion Web Clipper is the digital equivalent of a smart scrapbook. When you come across an article, idea, or statistic worth saving, you can clip it straight into your Notion workspace. Forget about messy folders or forgotten bookmarks.

You can tag and categorize what you save, whether it’s for a history paper, lab report, or design reference. Later, everything is right where you left it.

Try it for:

Collecting and grouping research materials;

Building mood boards for creative projects;

Saving readings for upcoming exams.

If you’ve ever wondered where students can find Chrome extensions that help with organization, try Notion Web Clipper because it deserves a top spot.

Forest – grow trees with your determination

Forest adds a refreshing twist to focus management. Every time you start studying, you plant a virtual tree. If you leave the page (because you probably got distracted), your tree fades. But if you stay focused, your tree becomes part of a growing forest.

You can set custom timers, track your productivity streaks, and even plant real trees through the app’s partnership program.

Best for:

Training yourself to resist multitasking;

Turning boring study hours into a small personal challenge;

Tracking how often you focus daily.

Among all useful Chrome extensions, Forest builds positive habits that last beyond college.

OneTab – tidy up your tabs

Having twenty open tabs is almost a college tradition, but it’s also a productivity killer. OneTab solves this issue by converting all your tabs into a single, easy-to-reopen list. Your computer runs faster, and your mind feels clearer.

When you need your tabs again, restore them all or open specific ones from your saved list. The extension’s minimal design keeps you from being visually overwhelmed.

This combination of simplicity and function makes OneTab one of the cute Chrome extensions that proves good design can be practical, too.

To get the most from it, pin OneTab to your toolbar and use it whenever your Chrome feels overloaded.

Google Keep – stop losing your notes

Do you like to note down your ideas or task lists? Google Keep is perfect for that. It syncs between your phone and laptop, so you will have no problem accessing your class notes or reminders.

You can color-code notes and create labels for better organization; you can also share lists with classmates. If you prefer voice notes, Google Keep supports that, too.

This is one of the best free Chrome extensions for students who need lightweight note-taking. Hint: many users combine it with Calendar or Docs.

Momentum – turn every new tab into a focus hub

Momentum turns the empty new tab page into a personal dashboard. It greets you with the time, a scenic background, a motivational quote, and your daily to-do list.

The extension lets you set a daily focus word or goal, something as simple as “Finish draft” or “Review slides.”

Why use Momentum:

You’ll stay aware of your daily goals;

You won’t forget about focus breaks;

You will enjoy the simple design.

If you aim to declutter your digital environment, try Momentum – it’ll likely become one of the most important Chrome extensions for you.

Zotero Connector – save and cite smarter

Zotero Connector automates one of the most time-consuming parts of academic writing: citations. With a single click, it saves article details like author, title, and publication date straight to your Zotero library.

The extension supports different citation styles (APA, MLA, and Chicago) and automatically formats them for your bibliography. You’ll never again scramble through pages at midnight to find lost references.

Zotero is easily one of the must-have Google Chrome extensions for students pursuing research-heavy degrees.

Do you want to block pop-up ads in Google Chrome browser?

The only thing that internet users will all agree with is this: pop-up ads are annoying.

When you are trying to access your favorite news site, stream video content, or conduct research on the job or in school, then chances are, you might get annoyed by those irritating pop-up windows that might just ruin the moment.

These pop-ups are not only annoying but also potentially malicious, as they may conceal malware, phishing scams, or adult material. However, most of the legitimate websites do not use these types of ads. But still the internet is full of these types of websites that show pop-up ads.

Thankfully, Google Chrome comes with built-in tools and features that let you take control of these annoying pop-up ads. But the inbuilt option might not work well for all pop-up ads. But there are other ways also available to get rid of this problem.

So, in this article, I’ll show you how to block pop-up ads in Google Chrome.

Why do you need to block pop-up ads?

Almost all websites rely on advertising income to support their operations. That’s why websites show ads to generate revenue.

However, some websites show pop-up ads for several reasons, such as higher conversion rates than normal ads.

Pop-up ads are annoying for users because they appear suddenly in a new browser window or as an overlay on the current page you’re viewing.

Well, pop-ups are hard to ignore. They interrupt the user experience, which increases the chances of a click, signup, or action. These ads are designed to grab the user’s attention immediately and block the content underneath until the user closes them or interacts with them.

The pop-up ads are not always bad because pop-ups are used for:

Email newsletter sign-ups

Discount codes or coupon offers

Reminders to complete purchases

Surveys or feedback forms

Third-party advertisements

Unfortunately, not all pop-ups are created with good intentions. Some are designed to:

Redirect users to phishing pages

Install malware or adware

Trick users into clicking unsafe buttons disguised as legitimate controls

Such pop-ups are usually found on non-trusted or pirated sites, and they are actually a threat to your security.

So, pop-up ads can be harmful, misleading, and dangerous. So, blocking them is important for your safety, privacy, productivity, and overall browsing experience.

How to Block Pop-up Ads in Google Chrome

There are several ways to block pop-up ads in the Google Chrome browser. The Google Chrome browser also provides a built-in pop-up blocker feature. But still, you need to use other methods because some websites bypass Chrome’s default protection.

Method 1. Use Built-In Popup Blocker

The built-in pop-up blocker is sufficient for most situations, but note that some websites bypass this protection. The steps are given below to enable Chrome’s pop-up blocker.

Open the Google Chrome browser and click on the three vertical dots (⋮) in the upper-right corner.

Select the Settings option from the list of options.

Click on the Privacy and Security option from the left pane and select the Site Settings option from the right side.

Scroll down and click on Pop-ups and redirects from under Content.

Enable or select the “Don’t allow sites to send pop-ups or use redirects” option.

That’s it.

You can also use the “Customised behaviours” option for specific sites. You can add sites that will not allow sending pop-ups or use redirects, and those that will allow sending pop-ups and use redirects.

Method 2: Use an Ad Blocker Chrome Extension to Block Pop-Ups and Ads

Well, Chrome’s built-in pop-up blocker is not that foolproof. You’ll still see some pop-up ads after enabling the built-in pop-up blocker because of aggressive scripts, overlays, or shady ad networks.

So, you need to use ad blocker extensions that provide an extra shield, giving you stronger and more customizable protection against ads, trackers, and malicious pop-ups.

Ad blocker extensions are designed to:

Block pop-up windows, overlays, and redirection scripts.

Hide or remove banner ads, video ads, and sponsored content.

Prevent malicious or deceptive pop-ups.

Stop auto-playing video or audio ads.

Block cookie tracking scripts that target your data.

Do you want to know how to remove search suggestions from Google Chrome when you type a search query in the address bar or search box?

When you type any query in the address bar or search box, Chrome sends what you type to your default search engine to get/show better suggestions. However, this feature is turned off in Incognito mode.

Sometimes you might need to remove search suggestions for some reasons, such as privacy concerns, distraction and clutter, or irrelevant suggestions.

No matter what the reasons are, you can easily disable this feature to avoid search suggestions from the Google Chrome browser.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to remove search suggestions from Chrome.

Google Chrome maintains its position as a well-known browser through fast performance together with a user-friendly design and seamless integration with Google services.

Search suggestions function as one of the browser’s major features. It is the dropdown list that appears as you type in the address bar.

While this feature can improve browsing efficiency, not everyone finds it useful. In fact, for some users, this feature can be annoying, distracting, or even a privacy concern.

What are Search Suggestions in Chrome?

Before jumping into the removal process, it’s helpful to understand why search suggestions appear.

When you type a word, phrase, or search query in Chrome’s address bar (also known as the Omnibox), the browser tries to assist you by showing a list of predicted searches or website URLs.

Why Chrome Shows Search Suggestions

These suggestions can come from several sources:

1. Search Engine Suggestions

By default, Chrome uses the Google search engine, and it uses real-time data from Google’s servers to predict what you’re trying to type.

If you’ve set a different search engine (such as Bing or DuckDuckGo), Chrome may use that engine’s suggestions instead of Google’s search engine.

This feature is designed to:

Save your time.

Offer search ideas you may not have thought of.

Help you find popular or trending searches.

2. Your Browsing History

Chrome stores your past searches and websites. If you visited a site or searched a term previously, Chrome may show those as suggestions.

3. Bookmarks

Chrome also considers your saved bookmarks to display suggestions.

Why do you need to remove search suggestions from Chrome?

Search suggestions create a beneficial experience for users, but they cause difficulties for certain users. The following list specifies reasons why you should either disable or remove this feature:

1. Privacy Concerns

If your computer is used by others, then other users may view your previous searches and websites displayed as suggestions during other people’s sessions.

The feature exposes private information, which creates uncomfortable moments when you search for intense personal stuff.

2. Distraction and Clutter

The dropdown suggestion box can sometimes feel intrusive or cluttered, especially if you prefer a minimalist browsing experience. The suggestions drop-down breaks focus for people who prefer an uncluttered screen.

3. Irrelevant Suggestions

Sometimes, the Chrome browser shows you search suggestions that don’t match what you want to explore anymore. Your past search history fills up the suggestion panel.

4. Avoid Search Engine Influence

Some users like to find what to look for on their own without considering what’s popular or trending on the internet.

If you’re concerned about privacy, dislike the suggestions, or simply dislike the fact that Chrome co-decides for you, you may find that turning off suggestions can make Chrome feel more personal and secure.

How to Remove Search Suggestions from Chrome

The steps are given below to remove and turn off search suggestions from Google Chrome:

Open Google Chrome and click on the three vertical dots from the top right.

Now you’ll see the list of options. Open the Settings option.

After that, the settings page will be open. By default, the You and Google options will be open.

From the You and Google settings, click on the Sync and Google services option.

Toggle off the “Improve search suggestions” option from under Other Google services.

That’s it.

How to Delete Cached Search Suggestions in Chrome

The above method turns off the search suggestion. But your Chrome browser may already cache some search suggestions. For this, you need to delete browsing history and cached files from the Chrome browser. The steps are given below:

Open the Google Chrome browser and click on the three vertical dots from the top right.

Click on the “Delete browsing data” option from the list, and the Delete browsing data pop-up window will open.
Note: You can also use the “Ctrl+Shift+Delete” (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac) keyboard shortcut to open the “Delete browsing data” pop-up window.

From the Advanced tab, select All Time from the Time range. After that, select Browsing History and Cached images and files.

Click on the Delete Data button, and that’s it.

Do you want to know about all Google Chrome Network Errors with meanings and solutions? If yes, then you’re on the right page.

While using the Google Chrome browser, you occasionally encounter network errors that disrupt your online activities. However, these errors are annoying, but by knowing their meanings, you can easily find the solution.

So, in this article, I’ll show you the list of Chrome Network Errors with their meanings and solutions.

Well, Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers in the world. This web browser is fast and secure that’s why it provides a seamless and smooth internet browsing experience.

The Internet is full of dangerous websites with malware, spyware, and other security risks. To save users from those websites, Google Chrome displays the interstitial pages to warn the users. An interstitial page provides the important information or actions that must be taken before proceeding to the web page with security and privacy risks.

So, in this post, I’ll show you the list of all Chrome Interstitials or Warning Pages that Chrome can display.

Modern web browsers offer various security features and built-in components to protect users from online threats and help enhance user security and privacy while browsing the web.

Web browsers serve as the interface between users and the vast online ecosystem, and in this digital age, online threats are increasing. That’s why browsers incorporate robust security measures.

Well, web browsers implement encryption protocols (such as SSL/TLS) to establish secure connections between users and websites. It helps to protect sensitive information such as login credentials and financial details, from interception by cyber criminals.

Additionally, web browsers deploy URL filtering mechanisms and maintain databases of known malicious websites. These features act as a shield against phishing attacks, warning users when they attempt to visit potentially harmful sites. By constantly updating and monitoring these databases, browsers stay ahead of emerging threats.

The most common security and privacy features in modern web browsers are HTTPS (SSL/TLS), URL Filtering, Phishing and Malware Protection, Privacy Settings (such as cookie management, tracking prevention, and browser history), Incognito/Private Browsing, Content Security Policy (CSP), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Sandboxing, Security Certificates, Download Protection, and Password Managers.

When it comes to the Google Chrome browser, it has plenty of built-in features that help users to stay safe while browsing the web. So, when the user tries to visit any harmful website, the Chrome browser shows the Interstitial or warning page.

What are Chrome Interstitials?

An Interstitial page is a warning page that is displayed before loading the webpage.

It typically displays a warning to inform the users about security risks or warn about the consequences of certain actions.

For example, if you try to visit a website that contains harmful content or might trick you into installing software with malware, Chrome displays the interstitial warning and blocks the website. Also, if you try to visit a website with an expired SSL certificate, Chrome displays an interstitial warning page to inform you that the connection is not secure.

So, an Interstitial page serves as a kind of intermediary page that can convey important information, notifications, or warnings to the user to ensure the user’s safety while browsing the web.

However, on the warning page, Chrome users can proceed to open the insecure web page by ignoring the warning.

How to View the List of All Chrome Interstitials

Google Chrome provides internal URLs that allow users to open its internal web pages that gain access to browser information and hidden features.

The internal URLs are started with chrome:// (followed by word). You just require to type the specific URL in the Omnibox to open the desired page.

To view the list of all Chrome Interstitials, type chrome://interstitials/ in the address bar (omnibox) and press the Enter button. After that, you’ll see the list of all warning pages.

Also, you can click on any warning to get the details of that page and see how the warning page looks alike.

List of all Chrome Interstitials

The Chrome Interstitials are categorized into different categories. The available categories are SSL, Enterprise, SafeBrowsing, Captive Portal, Lookalike URL Warnings, Insecure (Mixed) Form Submission Warnings, HTTPS-Only Mode Warnings, and Supervised User.

However, in the SafeBrowsing category, there are two subcategories: Loud and Quiet (WebView). The loud warnings are the normal warnings that are shown on the desktop as well as a mobile version of Chrome.

On the other hand, Quiet (WebView) warnings are shown in Android apps using WebView. Well, WebView is a component in mobile applications that allows developers to embed web content (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) within their apps. This is commonly used for displaying web pages or web-based features without requiring users to leave the app.

The list of all Chrome Interstitials is given below.

SSL

There are 10 SSL-related warnings that Google Chrome can show. The SSL-related warning is shown when a website’s SSL/TLS certificate is expired, invalid, or not properly configured. This interstitial warning alerts the users and tells them that the connection is not secure.

The SSL interstitial warnings are given below.

1. example.com (generic, overridable)

Title: Your connection is not private

Warning: Attackers might be trying to steal your information from example.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_CONTAINS_ERRORS

Description: This server could not prove that it is example.com; its security certificate contains errors. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

2. example.com (generic, non-overridable)

Title: Your connection is not private

Warning: Attackers might be trying to steal your information from example.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_CONTAINS_ERRORS

Description: example.com normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to example.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be example.com or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.
You cannot visit example.com at the moment because the website sent scrambled credentials that Chrome cannot process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

3. example.com (HSTS, non-overridable)

Title: Your connection is not private

Warning: Attackers might be trying to steal your information from example.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_CONTAINS_ERRORS

Description: You cannot visit example.com right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

4. Clock is ahead

Title: Your clock is ahead.

Warning: A private connection to example.com can’t be established because your computer’s date and time (Date at Time) are incorrect.

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

Description: To establish a secure connection, your clock needs to be set correctly. This is because the certificates that websites use to identify themselves are only valid for specific periods of time. Since your device’s clock is incorrect, Chrome cannot verify these certificates.

5. Clock is behind

Title: Your clock is behind.

Warning: A private connection to example.com can’t be established because your computer’s date and time (Date at Time) are incorrect.

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

Description: To establish a secure connection, your clock needs to be set correctly. This is because the certificates that websites use to identify themselves are only valid for specific periods of time. Since your device’s clock is incorrect, Chrome cannot verify these certificates.

6. Pinned certificate error

Title: Your connection is not private

Warning: Attackers might be trying to steal your information from example.com (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). Learn more

Error Code: NET::ERR_SSL_PINNED_KEY_NOT_IN_CERT_CHAIN

Description: You cannot visit example.com right now because the website uses certificate pinning. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

7. Certificate Transparency error

Title: Your connection is not private

Warning: Attackers might be trying to steal your information from example.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERTIFICATE_TRANSPARENCY_REQUIRED

Description: The server presented a certificate that was not publicly disclosed using the Certificate Transparency policy. This is a requirement for some certificates, to ensure that they are trustworthy and protect against attackers.

8. MITM software

Title: An application is stopping Chrome from safely connecting to this site

Warning: ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’ wasn’t installed properly on your computer or the network:

Try uninstalling or disabling ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’

Try connecting to another network

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

Description: ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’ isn’t configured correctly. Uninstalling ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’ usually fixes the problem. Applications that can cause this error include antivirus, firewall, and web-filtering or proxy software.

9. MITM software on an enterprise-managed machine

Title: An application is stopping Chrome from safely connecting to this site

Warning: ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’ wasn’t installed properly on your computer or network. Ask your IT administrator to resolve this issue.

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

Description: A root certificate for ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’ is required but isn’t installed. Your IT administrator should look at configuration instructions for ‘Misconfigured Antivirus’ to fix this problem. Applications that can cause this error include antivirus, firewall, and web-filtering or proxy software.

10. Blocked interception

Title: Your activity on example.com is being monitored

Warning: Anything that you type, any pages that you view or any other activity on the web is being watched. Content on sites may be changed without your knowledge.

Error Code: NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

Description: This problem happens because of a certificate that you or someone else installed on your device. The certificate is known to be used to monitor and intercept networks, and is not trusted by Chrome. While some legitimate cases for monitoring do exist, like on a school or company network, Chrome wants to make sure that you’re aware it’s happening, even if you can’t stop it. Monitoring may happen in any browser or application that accesses the web.

Enterprise

On Chrome Enterprise, the admin can block or flag the websites according to their policy. If any website is flagged or blocked, it shows a warning when the user or employee tries to open that particular website.

The enterprise interstitial warnings are given below.

Warning: The Wi-Fi that you are using (CoffeeShopWiFi) may require you to visit captive.portal.

Lookalike URL Warnings

On the web, numerous fraudulent websites are built or designed to trick users into believing they are on a legitimate website. These websites are generally known for phishing or distributing malware.

So, lookalike URL Warnings help users from falling victim to these fraudulent websites and phishing attacks.

2. Lookalike URL (no suggested URL)

Title: Fake site ahead.

Warning: Attackers sometimes mimic sites by making small, hard-to-see changes to the URL.

Insecure (Mixed) Form Submission Warnings

Sometimes, the webpage is loaded over HTTPS, and the page contains forms (such as login forms or password entry fields) that are submitted through an insecure HTTP connection. So, it introduces a security risk, because attackers could exploit this vulnerability to manipulate the transmitted data.

This warning page is shown to alert users when they are submitting sensitive information on a webpage that is not fully secure.

The Insecure (Mixed) Form Submission Warning is given below.

1. Insecure Form

Title: The information that you’re about to submit is not secure

Warning: Because this form is being submitted using a connection that’s not secure, your information will be visible to others.

HTTPS-Only Mode Warnings

Google Chrome has a built-in “HTTPS-Only Mode” security feature that forces the browser to use secure connections (HTTPS). This feature blocks the insecure HTTP connections and automatically upgrades the connections to a more secure HTTPS protocol.

So, if the user trying to open the website does not support HTTPS, Chrome shows the warning.

Warning: You are seeing this warning because this site does not support HTTPS.

Supervised User

Google Chrome offers a supervised user account feature in which a parent or supervisor can use controls to manage and restrict the websites that a supervised user can access.

If the supervised user tries to access the site that has been blocked by the supervisor, then the browser shows the warning page.

Are you getting the “Unable to access the network. Tap to see the search results.” error while using the touch-to-search feature or want to solve the touch-to-search not working problem on Chrome for Android?

When you tap on the text on the web page in Chrome to select the word, you’ll see the search term bar appear at the bottom of the screen. When you tap on the search term bar, you’ll see the overlay card with search results.

Sometimes, you’ll get “Unable to access the network. Tap to see the search results.” error that prevents you from seeing the search results.

So, in this article, I’ll show you how to fix touch to search not working on Chrome for Android.

Well, the Touch to Search feature was launched in 2015 on Chrome 43 that allows you to perform a quick search by tapping and holding on a word or phrase on a webpage. Also, the searches are based on the context of the web page you are currently viewing.

This can save you time because you can quickly find information without having to type it out. The touch-to-search also lets you get faster translations. Because tapping on a word can also display its translation.

However, the feature is enabled by default. But there are chances that it might not work on some Android devices.

When you select the word by tapping on it, you’ll see the unable to access the network text on the search bar card at the bottom of the screen. And when you swipe up the card to see the result, you’ll see the blank overlay panel.

How to Solve Touch to Search not Working on Chrome for Android

The steps are given below to solve the “Unable to access the network. Tap to see the search results.” error. Let’s get started.

Open the Chrome browser app on your Android device and tap on the More (three vertical dots) icon from the top right of the screen. You’ll see the context menu with the list of options.

From the list of options, tap on the Settings option.

Now you’ll see the list of all available Chrome app settings. Tap on the Google Services option. After that, select the Touch to Search option.

Toggle off the “Include surrounding text in Google searches” option.

Now go back and open the web page and tap on any word to select it and you’ll see the search card at the bottom of the screen.

That’s all.

The Include surrounding text in Google searches option lets you get high-quality results by including more of a page’s text.

How to Enable Touch to Search on Chrome

Sometimes, the touch-to-search feature is disabled and you can’t see any search term at the bottom of the screen after selecting the word. This is probably because the touch-to-search option is disabled on your device. You need to enable it to use it.

Open the Chrome app on an Android device and tap on the More icon from the top right.

Now go to Settings » Google Services and open the Touch to Search option.

Toggle On the button next to Off. If the feature is already turned on, you don’t need to do anything.

That’s it.

Final Words

I hope this article helped you learn how to solve the touch to search not working problem on Chrome for Android. However, this feature offers a convenient and efficient way to search for information on web pages while using Chrome on Android devices. Its contextual search capabilities and translation feature further enhance its usability, making it a valuable tool for mobile users and saving their time.

Do you want to know the list of Google Chrome Settings URLs and Addresses?

No doubt Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers in the world. It offers plenty of options to customize the browser. You can access the customizations from its settings.

You might or might not be aware that each settings page of the Chrome browser has an internal URL. These URLs give the option to access a particular settings page directly using the URL.

So, in this post, I’ll show you the list of all Google Chrome Settings URLs and Addresses.

Well, Google Chrome also offers numerous hidden features and settings. You can enable the experimental features from Chrome Flags.

Also, the browser offers some internal URLs and pages for developers and advanced users. These internal pages help the users and developers for debugging and troubleshooting browser-related problems.

I’ve also shared the list of Chrome internal pages/URLs and their uses. You can access the list of all internal URLs by typing chrome://chrome-urls in the address bar (Omnibox).

Note that these URLs are different from settings URLs. Most internal pages give the browser hidden information that is not required by normal users.

On the other hand, Chrome Settings URLs give direct access to browser settings that are for normal users.

What are Chrome Settings URLs and Addresses?

Google Chrome provides a wide range of settings that allow users to customize their browsing experience. However, you can access the settings from the settings page. To access the page, click on the Customise and Control Google Chrome (three dots) icon from the option right and select Settings from the drop-down menu.

On the Settings page, you’ll see the different categories of settings that allow you to customize the browser.

But you can also access all different categories using the URLs. The Settings URLs start with the chrome:// followed by a word.

List of Chrome Settings URLs and Addresses

However, you can access all settings from the settings page. But, using direct links, you can open the specific settings page quickly. You can bookmark any URL because it is hard to remember and type the URL in the address bar.

The list is given below. Let’s get started.

Do you want to know what Chrome Components are and how to update them?

Chrome Components are the pieces or modules of the Chrome browser’s core functionality. The browser allows us to see the list of all individual components with update options from the internal page. You can access that page via an internal URL.

So, in this post, I’ll show you what Chrome Components are, what they mean, and how to update them individually.

When it comes to the popularity of web browsers, Google Chrome is in the first position with 2.65 billion users. It holds a 61.50% market share on all platforms.

Well, Google regularly gives updates to the Chrome browser to enhance the user experience by adding new features and making it more secure, faster, and privacy-oriented.

The browser also allows its users to use and test upcoming features before the official launch through flags and beta programs.

However, the browser updates itself automatically in the background, but you can also update it manually from its Menu » Help » About Google Chrome.

Sometimes (rarely) the Chrome browser crashes or freezes due to some reasons. Normally, the corrupted files, extensions, faulty updates, and glitches cause problems i.e., the browser hangs, shows you corrupted web pages, some features are not working, or unable to play online content.

Updating and restarting might solve the most of common problems. But before troubleshooting, you need to find the problem. If the extension causes the problem, you can start Chrome without extensions to troubleshoot the problem.

Sometimes some components fail to update while updating the browser and cause some problems. So, you may need to update them individually to solve the problem.

What are Chrome Components?

The Components are the pieces (building blocks or parts) of Chrome that make up the browser. Each component is an element of Chrome’s core functionality that runs and works in the background to make it possible to access the web and provide the features while browsing the web.

Note that you cannot enable or disable the components manually because these are the main services of the browser that require it to run.

Well, the main components of a web browser are User Interface (UI), Browser/Rendering Engine, Networking, Data Storage, and JavaScript Interpreter.

Chrome uses Blink as a rendering engine and V8 is the JS engine that is used within the rendering engine.

Apart from the main components, Chrome also has numerous additional components that offer additional features and make the browser secure, fast, smart, and rich in features.

Note that all components are required to run the browser.

How to Open/Access Components Page in Chrome

Google Chrome has an internal page that gives the list of all of its modules or components. You can access that page using the Chrome URL.

Type chrome://components in the Omnibox (address bar) in the browser and press the enter button. The page will open the list of browser pieces.

Currently, there are 23 components available on the list. Google adds new and removes the modules from the list in the updates. But most components are permanent.

On the components page, the browser shows the list of all components with their name, version, status, and check for the update button.

How to Update Chrome Components

The browser provides the component updater. The updater is also a piece or module of the browser that is responsible for updating the other pieces of the browser. It finds the latest versions of the elements from the servers and downloads them using Omaha protocol.

By default, the components are automatically updated when Chrome updates itself. But components can be updated manually without an update to the browser itself.

When you open/launch the browser, the updater registers all the components and checks the updates after six minutes.

Otherwise, to do this job manually, you can update individual components by opening the chrome://components page.

On the page, click on the “Check for update” button from the particular module.

List of Chrome Components and Their Meaning

The list of Chrome building blocks with meaning is given below. Let’s get started.

1. Autofill States Data

Chrome browser is smart to fill data automatically in fields of the websites. It can autofill passwords, payment methods, addresses, and more.

You can store your data such as country/region, name, organization, street address, city, PIN code, state, phone number, and email in the browser. Chrome can automatically fill that data in online forms when open. This will save you time.

This component is responsible for storing, managing, and auto-filling your data when needed. You can save your Autofill data on Chrome Settings » Autofill.

2. PKI Metadata

PKI stands for public key infrastructure (Certificate Management Protocol) and it is used to manage public key encryption in browsers. Well, it uses two cryptographic keys (public and private) to encrypt or decrypt the data. PKI helps to secure the information while transferred on the network.

The PKI Metadata component contains the information about the public key infrastructure that is responsible to secure the transferring information.

3. Third Party Module List

Google Chrome loads the third-party modules (for example, DLLs on Windows) into the main process or Chrome installation.

The Third Party Module List component contains the list of all modules that are loaded into to the browser and registered to load at a later point.

Sometimes third-party modules cause some problems and conflict with the browser, that’s why developers add a page to see the list of all modules. Using that page, you can see what modules conflict with the browser and you can easily troubleshoot the problems.

You can see the module list by opening the chrome://conflicts URL in your browser. On the page, you’ll see the all loaded modules with software names, signed by, version, code id, process types, and location.

4. Subresource Filter Rules

The Subresource Filter Rules component filters out the sub-resource requests that are based on the page-level activation signal and ruleset to match URLs for filtering.

The component is used by the Chrome inbuilt ad filter program that filters out or blocks intrusive ads, links, and content.

It also helps to filter out web pages that contain malicious codes and prevents phishing attacks.

5. Crowd Deny

Websites often require some permissions (such as notification, location, camera, automatic downloads, microphone, background sync, file editing, protocol handlers, etc) and store cookies on your device.

However, you can manually disable the alerts and remove the site permissions. But Chrome is also able to do this job automatically and smartly.

Crowd Deny Deals with site permissions, notifications, and cookies. Chrome records the website behavior by collecting data from users. The data helps Chrome to know what sites contain malicious codes or send misleading notifications.

The Crowd Deny module blocks malicious sites, apps, and extensions from sending notifications, adding cookies, and granting permissions.

6. Certificate Error Assistant

The Certificate Error Assistant component assists the user with SSL certificate-related errors. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and it is a security protocol based on encryption.

The SSL certificate requires and enables the sites to move from HTTP to HTTPS. The SSL certificate is stored on the server. Sometimes the browser is unable to verify the certificate and the error occurs.

This module manages the signed certificates and can resolve the problems and errors related to the SSL certificates.

7. First-Party Sets

Some websites often use multiple domains and some organizations own multiple websites.

First-party sets is a new concept that allows websites to declare related domains belonging to the same first party by serving a manifest file.

It allows the browsers to recognize the connection between two domains. This can solve some privacy-related issues. This module contains all protocols of a first-party set.

8. CRLSet

CRLSet is a Certificate Revocation List that stores the list of bad certificates. The list helps the Chrome browser to block bad certificates in emergency situations. Also, it contains some non-emergency revocations.

The list of CRLs is published by CAs and fetched by Chrome infrequently. After that, the browser maintains the list as an internal list.

9. pnacl

PNaCl stands for Portable Native Client which gives the portability to NaCl (native client). The NaCl allows the users or developers to execute native code within web apps using SFI (Software Fault Isolation) techniques. In simple words, it allows the developers to run the code in a sandbox without harming the machine and browser security.

PNaCl provides portability to NaCl by breaking the compilation process into two parts. In the first part, it compiles the code to bitcode executable. And in the second part, it translates the bitcode to host specific executable.

10. Chrome Improved Recovery

While updating the browser, some problems can occur in the background that leads to crashes in the browser files. The Chrome Improved Recovery component detects and solves those problems automatically and recovers the files.

The module was firstly introduced with the “Recovery” name. Now, this is the improved version that works more smartly to fix the updating problems.

11. Client Side Phishing Detection

Google Chrome maintains a list of unsafe websites. When anyone tries to open websites that are unsecure or deceptive, the browser shows the warning and blocks that site automatically. However, you can open non-secure websites in Chrome.

The module can detect and prevent phishing attacks. It also includes a credential component that can track the credentials used by the users.

12. Hyphenation

The hyphenation module split the words into parts and displayed them without moving the whole word to the next line. It inserts the hyphen symbol to indicate it.

If the web page container is not adequate to display the word this module helps to solve the problem.

Modern browsers support the CSS Hyphens property. This enabled Chrome to use CSS Hyphenation. It controls the words at the end of the lines.

13. Safety Tips

Chrome shows you warnings when you’re trying to visit unsafe websites that contain malware or are involved in phishing attacks.

The module is responsible for showing safety tips to the user to stay safe on the web. The browser checks the website before opening it and shows you the warning if the site is fake, malicious, or spam.

14. File Type Policies

From the web, users often download different types of files. The File Type Policies component determines the files by their danger level while downloading and warns the user. For example, the .txt files are safe to download, but .exe or .dll files can be dangerous.

Chrome browser classified the danger level into three levels – Dangerous, Not Dangerous, and Allow on User Gesture.

Chrome can interrupt the download if the file is dangerous or harmful to your device, and shows the message in the downloads menu.

15. MEI Preload

MEI Preload deals with media playback on web pages. Modern websites are embedded with media files (audio and video).

The MEI Preload module preloads the media content when the user opens the website. When users click on the media file to play, the file will play immediately because the content downloading starts when the web page is opened.

16. Origin Trials

Origin Trails is a developer-oriented component that allows developers to test experimental web technologies on Chrome without breaking the browser.

The developer can build functionality and make it available to the users for a limited time before the functionality is made available for all users.

Well, Origin trails are public and available on a first-party but limited to the duration and usage.

17. Optimization Hints

It enables the syncing of the Optimization Hints component. This component provides hints for the optimizations that can be applied on a page load. It also includes code for processing hints and machine learning models that are received from the remote Chrome Optimization Guide Service.

18. Google Widevine Windows CDM

The Widevine is a content protection system by Google for premium media. The focus of Widevine is to prevent video piracy and provide the best experience for viewing premium content over digital distribution.

This component contains files that define the shared library interface between an EME Content Decryption Module (CDM) and Chromium or other user agents. It is used to create user agents as well as CDMs.

19. OnDeviceHeadSuggest

Chrome browser shows the URL or Searches suggestion in the Omnibox. However, search suggestions are from the server side. But URL suggestions are based on the auto-complete predictor feature.

On Device Head Suggest controls the suggestions that are showing on the Omnibox (address bar).

Chrome stores the user text and URL. For example, when typing “a” word in the Omnibox, Chrome shows you the URL suggestion based on your history. Each time you open the URL stored in the AutoComplete Action predictor, it helps the browser to show the suggestion next time.

You can check the predictors by opening the chrome://predictors URL in the Chrome browser.

20. Widevine Content Decryption Module

The Widevine Content Decryption Module allows Chrome to play DRM (Digital Rights Management) controlled media.

WDCM decrypts the DRM protection from the media files when you stream the file from streaming services. It enforces the streaming services that the media is uses as their requirements. It is also used to prevent some tasks from being performed by the browser or user.

This module requires a CDM (Content Decryption Module). If you see any Widevine Content Decryption Module error while streaming the online content, you can solve that problem by updating this component.

21. Zxcvbn Data Dictionaries

This module stores the zxcvbn data components that are used to check the password strength and compromised passwords.

In simple words, zxcvbn is a password analyzer and strength checker. Its data dictionaries contain 30k+ weak or compromised passwords.

22. Desktop Sharing Hub

Google Chrome adds the “Desktop sharing hub” menu on the Omnibox (address bar) that gives the sharing options like Copy link, Create QR Code, Cast, Save page as, Share a link to WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

You can disable this feature from Chrome flags but you don’t need to do that. Because, under a single menu, you can get all sharing options.

To use the desktop sharing hub, click on the sharing hub icon on the right side of the address bar (Omnibox) and you’ll see the pop-up menu with all options.

The Desktop Sharing hub component is responsible to perform and manage sharing tasks that are available under its menu.

23. Url Param Classifications

Websites often use URL Parameters (query strings) to pass information via URL from page to page or client-side to server-side. The URL Parameters are used for various purposes such as tracking, pagination, sorting and filtering, reordering, search, translation, etc.

The parameter in the URL starts with the “?” (question mark) symbol. A single URL can contain multiple parameters separated by & a symbol.

This component contains the classifications of URL parameters and defines utility methods to work with parameters in the URL.

24. Software Reporter Tool

The Software Reporter tool enables the Chrome browser to report details to Google about harmful software, processes, and system settings that are found on your device.

This tool scans and finds malicious programs that conflict with the browser and cause problems.

On Windows OS, you can scan for malicious programs using Chrome CleanUp Tool. After scanning, you can easily delete the harmful programs from your PC and the scanning report will be sent to Google using the Software Reporter tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. When to update Chrome Components?

Generally, you don’t need to update the components manually, Chrome automatically does this job. But sometimes the update may be fail due to some reasons and you might face errors or problems. In that case, you can update the individual component manually. For example, while streaming from Netflix if you see the Widevicecdm error (M7701-1003 or M7357-1003), you need to update the Widevine Content Decryption Module.

2. I faced a “Component not updated” error.

When you click on the Check for update button from the component to update it, you might face this error. If the module update is available, you’ll see the update starting and the Update completed notification. Component not updated always doesn’t mean the error. If the update is not available Chrome shows this error.

3. Can I Disable the Chrome Components individually?

No, you can disable the Chrome Components, because these are the main building blocks of the browser to run. These are the pieces of the browser that makes a safe environment to browse the web.

Final Words

I hope this article helped you learn about Chrome Components, their meanings, and how to update them. The developers added new elements in the updates when introducing the new features.

The new elements are delivered by the component updater or at the time of browser update. However, you don’t need to update the browser building blocks manually. But if you face any problems you can update manually because the updater is provided by the browser.

The updater finds and downloads the latest version from the web servers using the Omaha protocol.
