In windows operating system you have the option a quick format with FAT and NTFS file system. Also, Quick Format could not scan USB for a bad sector. Everyone uses a quick format because of its speed because full format takes a lot of time.

Full Format: If you Format your USB with Full format option, then it erases files from USB and scan for bad sectors also. It takes a lot of time than the Quick Format. It will completely erase data from USB and could not be recovered properly.
